Mohammad Bin Lamin

Mohammad Bin Lamin was born in 1969 in Libya. He is a self-taught artist working with sculpture, digital art, photography and painting.

With an already well-established art career, he has developed signature paint methods with some of his techniques still under wraps.
Mohammad's work is inspired by Libya's rich cultural and artistic heritage, going as far back as the ancient cave paintings in the southern mountains and the surreal identities that the country has had to endure.
His choice of colours, shapes and forms always draws on Libya's unique landscape, especially the desert, the sea and its urban and rural fabrics. One of his most celebrated paint series is the 'Yellow Beings' with the deformed but most beautiful and colorful creatures.

During the February 17th Revolution, Mohammad was imprisoned for several months at the infamous Abu Salim prison, where he drew on the walls, made faces on silver tin foil and created sculptures from bullets, shells and other recycled war material.

Mohammad's artwork has already been exhibited in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, the United Kingdom and China.
